1930s. Stamped "Vilas, Cowansville, Que" lower corner. Collectors will recognize this sign as a rare and graphic achievement in Canadian porcelain advertising. It features in profuse detail the earliest version of the iconic "Dutch Girl". Only a few examples are known to exist. Heavy shelved, early porcelain. 22.5" x 46.6" x 6". Surface restoration to edges. The "O" in "FOR" and black border show touch ups. Upper and lower center shows restoration (probably where is was mounted) with edge splits leading to the mounting holes of the raised border. No restoration to "Dutch Girl" graphics. Superb colour and gloss. Est. $3000-5000
