Step 2: Consignment Contract
If you wish to proceed, a Miller & Miller Representative will be happy to contact you. At this point we can coordinate all of the details of your consignments and logistics (consignment rate, special clauses, auction date, etc.). We will finalize the contract with you and arrange for shipment or pick-up of your items.

Step 3: Handling Your Valuables
Our streamlined system ensures the safe handling of your consignments. We fully insure your items for the low pre-sale estimate until the ownership transfers to the buyer. When we receive your consignments we carefully tag, inventory, document and store each them before it is time for public display. Our experts inspect, describe and provide estimates item-by-item. Our modern, state-of-the-art facility is fully secured which ensures that your items will be safe and sound until they are placed in the hands of the buyer.

Step 4: Develop Descriptions & Estimates, Photography, Report
We use Canada’s foremost experts to provide unbiased item descriptions and estimates. No matter how specialized the category, we have an expert.
Our photographers are trained in properly handling your valuable consignments. Each item is shown from all perspectives. Special detail, markings, signatures, and condition issues are shown. Our detailed, high-resolution images reveal everything an advanced collector wants to see.
About 7 weeks before the sale you will receive a report outlining your consignments. This will include a draft of the expert descriptions, estimates and photos. If you wish to make changes and revisions, we can implement these at this time.

Step 5: Create Auction Catalogue
Our goal is to showcase your consigned items to their very best advantage. If desired, Miller & Miller Auctions can produce a professional hardbound catalog to be mailed out one month prior to the auction date.

Step 6: Devise Marketing Strategy
Getting your items noticed is of high importance to us. We tailor our promotional strategy to your collection. This ensures the most possible participation from our worldwide database of consigners. We create and execute a media campaign alongside the marketing campaign that targets specific antique trade publications, social media, trade shows, and other outlets. We also issue a press release to our database of clients and to Marketwired, a newswire service.
We use our newly designed website to promote your items through the homepage banners and exclusive auction page Miller & Miller Live!. The website features collections from the current auction, “sneak peeks” of upcoming auctions, a news center, online catalog and multiple bidding options for potential buyers.
Our online catalog affords potential buyers the opportunity to view auction items and pre-bid before to the auction date. The online catalog is available approximately 4 weeks prior to the auction date to allow for maximum exposure and bidding opportunities.
Miller & Miller Auctions participates in multiple social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Step 7: Arrange Display
Your items are securely displayed in our gallery for weeks before the auction. Only authorized Miller & Miller Auctions representatives handle them. All auction items may be viewed during preview hours and outside of preview hours by appointment.

Step 8 Selling at Auction
We use multiple bidding platforms to maximize buyer awareness and bidder participation. If potential buyers cannot attend the sale we provide telephone, absentee, and online/internet bidding.

Step 9: Consignor Payout
Miller & Miller Auctions guarantees payouts within 45-days of each auction.

Step 10 – Dealing with Unsold Items
If items fail to meet their reserve we set them aside. A representative will contact you to discuss a strategy with your unsold items.  We can return the items or reposition them for an upcoming auction.
