— OUR PROCESS —

Reach out to us.

Send us an email to discuss your needs. We do our best to provide personal guidance, even if our service is not the best fit for your needs.

Email your photographs.

Your pictures say a thousand words. Follow the easy steps on this form. To start we ask that you provide only one photograph per item. For sending larger quantities of files we suggest using wetransfer.com. Expect our feedback within five (5) working days.

Value assessment.

If your property qualifies for one or more of our upcoming sales, we need to estimate market value. Estimates are important because they represent the price range within which we expect your item(s) to sell for at auction. They ensure our expectations are in alignment, and also protect your property for insurance purposes.

Sign consignor agreement.

Our Consignor Agreement is a simple one-page document that authorizes Miller & Miller to sell the property on your behalf. It includes an itemized list of the property to be sold including estimates, reserve(s), sale date(s) and other information.

Logistics.

Once the Agreement is signed, your property can be mailed or delivered our gallery, or picked-up by a Miller & Miller representative. Your property is fully insured from the moment it enters our gallery or vehicle.

Check-in.

Property is sorted, cleaned, labeled and prepared for photography and cataloguing.

Photography.

In today’s online market quality photography is increasingly important to instil confidence and desire in buyers that cannot physically inspect the product. We use cutting-edge Canon digital technology on a white background we ensure high-resolution images in true fidelity. The photographer works with the specialist to ensure that the photos match the condition reports.

Catalogue.

At this stage we collaborate with specialists to publish solid catalogue descriptions. Our specialists highlight the details and features that are important to collectors. Instilling buyer confidence through accurate catalogue descriptions is key to achieving top dollar in today's online marketplace.

Marketing & Promotion.

Creating awareness in our digital age is key to getting the most for your property. Targeting specific market segments of collectors is key. We manage our mailing list data, write press releases with attention-grabbing headlines, pitch stories to various media outlets, customize content for social media, and advertise in niche collector publications. We also feature collector profiles in The Miller Times: our online magazine featuring stories behind the items we sell, and the people we sell them for. To allow for maximum exposure, all Items featured in our upcoming auctions should be at our facility at least six weeks prior to the auction date.

Pre-bidding period.

Each catalogue is listed online for "pre-bidding" three weeks before the auction day. The "pre-bidding" period works like eBay: bidders compete by placing maximum bids and receiving outbid notifications. All leading bids carry forward to the online Simulcast auction.

Online simulcast auction.

Our ‘Simulcast’ auctions extend the physical auction experience to a virtual audience of eager bidders across the world. ‘Simulcast’ is online sales platform. Lots are sold in order, one-by-one, by a live auctioneer in real time using video and audio streaming. Our auctioneers drive excitement by encouraging participation before the hammer goes down. With the competitive nature of our auctions, reminding bidders of key features at the point of decision can increase your prices realized.

Packing, shipping and pick-ups.

Your consignments are within the reach of a global marketplace with our full-service, in-house shipping department. We ship “at-cost” so that buyers can budget more for your consignment. Our professional packing increases the confidence of international bidders.
