We Sell Your Lamps

Overview

Antique lamps span a wide spectrum, including well-known styles like Victorian and slag glass, and leading brand names like Handel, Tiffany and Aladdin. The oil lamp, the earliest type of lamp, began mass production in the mid 19th century. Electric lamps gained popularity in the late 1800s, a time period in which lamps were starting to become more decorative rather than simply functional. This led to the growing popularity of ornate glass lamp shades, often with floral imagery. These decorative lamps were used a status symbol in homes, and flaunted as art rather than appliances. The beautiful, ornate lamps of the last 1800s and early 1900s are highly sought after by collectors of decorative art today.
